Our historic 8+ acre grounds include views of the beautiful, Charleston-style family farmhouse, surrounded by gardens and the early 20th century barn. The historic Shelton House grounds and barn provide an inviting venue for weddings, meetings and a wide variety of events.
The Shelton House Barn is a Pennsylvania Dutch-style dairy darn that W.T. Shelton had built in the early 1900’s. Originally, the barn was used to house dairy cows and other livestock. The barn was later converted into meeting and display space for historical artifacts related to farming.

Originally built in 1875 for the Shelton family the two-story, Charleston-style farmhouse provides a glimpse into North Carolina history, heritage and crafts.
Our Pennsylvania Dutch-style barn, part of the Shelton’s working dairy farm in the early to mid-20th century, contains a collection of antique farm tools as well as a century-old milking room.
The scenic 4+ acre grounds at The Shelton House includes various feature gardens. Stroll through the lush green space, explore the gardens or reserve the space for your private event.
