Our historic Shelton House grounds include views of the beautiful, Charleston-style family farmhouse, surrounded by gardens and the early 20th century barn that provide an inviting venue for weddings, meetings and a wide variety of events.
The Shelton House Barn is a Pennsylvania Dutch Style Dairy Barn that W.T. Shelton had built in 1916. Originally, the barn was used to house milk cows and other livestock. The barn was later converted into meeting and display space for historical artifacts related to farming.

The Shelton House house, barn, and grounds feature space for small events, weddings, and receptions. The barn accommodates up to fifty people, providing round and/or rectangular tables to meet your event needs. If you are inviting more than fifty to your special event, no problem, just arrange for tents and outdoor seating. We can recommend a variety of companies for you. Set up a band on the large lawn and dance under the stars. We provide the venue…the house, lawns, gardens, barn, kitchen, seating for fifty, and restrooms at a very reasonable price. You provide the rest. We can provide additional help with linens, table runners and decorations, silverware, and more.
An open, spacious kitchen with oven, refrigerator, freezer, and sink is located in the upper barn area adjacent to the main room for food preparation and use by caterers.
A two-way buffet room behind the main room allows for smooth flow of guests for food and refreshments.
Wi-Fi service is free for all guests, audio visual and sound equipment available, and service animals are always welcome.
Alcohol permits are available from NC ABC, and are the responsibility of the rental party to obtain and present.
