FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 9, 2018
(Waynesville, NC – February 9, 2018) – The Shelton House has already made plans for its 2018 season, which promises to be filled with events and opportunities for crafters and the community alike. Our 2nd Annual Crafter Showcase Program will run April through October and will feature local crafters who will display and sell their crafts to the community.
The Shelton House is accepting applications for crafters until March 15, 2018, with selections made by March 23, 2018. Selected crafters will be featured in the house and will display and sell their works in a new Shelton House Craft Shop. Each month, the featured crafter will demonstrate their craft at a Crafter Showcase Spotlight on the third Saturday of the month from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
“We received wonderful feedback from last year’s showcase program. At our Showcase Spotlights, guests were treated to demonstrations of various crafts and this year we hope to increase our exposure in the community. We are blessed to live in an art-based community and want to help new and established artists share their talents and work,” said Sarah Jane League, Shelton House Board Chair.
“Shelton House is a vital partner for Waynesville, Haywood County, and WNC in support of unique crafts and crafters. We invite businesses and individuals to sponsor and support our Crafter Showcase Program,” said Mike McLean, Shelton House Board Vice Chair.
The Crafter Showcase Spotlights will be held every third Saturday of the month from April to October at 1:00 pm. A $5 donation is requested to help with showcase costs and preservation efforts. More information is available by visiting the Shelton House website at or calling 828-452-1551. The Shelton House will be open for museum tours from April through October, Tuesday – Saturday 11:00 – 4:00 pm and is located at 49 Shelton Street in Waynesville, North Carolina.
